Offered is a New York Yankees home jersey issued to Derek Jeter during the Subway Series in 2000. Per the work of Dave Grob, the jersey could not be attributed to have been worn during game 1 or game 2 of the series. It may have been the jersey reserved for Jeter for the decisive game 7 game if needed. The Yankees beat the Mets 4 games to 1, so the last jersey was not needed.
Russell Athletic MLB Authentic Collection tag sewn to tail along with flag tags indicating size 46 & 2" extra length and a box tag reading "YO". The Yankees iconic interlocking NY logo is sewn to the left chest in navy tackle twill while Jeter's number 2 is sewn to the reverse in the same fashion. A 2000 World Series patch is sewn to the right sleeve while a black band honoring Bob Lemon, who had passed earlier in the year. Jersey originates from the collection of former clubhouse attendant. Per our consignor, this jersey was personally gifted by Jeter and was not a retail or pro cut jersey and should be considered as a true game issued World Series jersey. 64R0050)
