Could anyone have ever imagined Mickey Mantle as an engineer?

The future New York Yankees star was quite active as a high school senior participating in many extra-curricular activities, including the Pre-Engineer club.

Before Mantle went on to be known as one of the greatest Yankees of All-Time, he was a popular member of his senior class. Offered in this lot is Mantle's Commerce, Oklahoma 1949 Senior yearbook. Mantle is photographed 10 times throughout the yearbook. A telling sign of things to come happened with his senior photo where it states: They're great pals, he and his baseball jacket.

Other photos of Mantle include: Sports Editor of the Bengal Tales, as a member of the basketball team, a member of the Senior Play titled "Starring The Stars"; two photos with the football team, including one standalone photo, Voted Most Popular as he stood by a Coca-Cola machine and two photos of Tiger Chat, including a standalone head shot as Assistant Editor.

The yearbook itself is a rarity that is unsigned and is in excellent condition with minimal surface wear on the cover, along with warping one of the cover pages along with two small dents on the cover. (57K0092)
