This entire lot once rested in the vaults at Louisville Slugger. All show game use and various degrees of side writing. This lot of 4 bats are variations on the bottle bat.

1. 1920's blank barrel Heinie Groh bottle bat. This is the real deal as it is just like the MEARS 9 recorded Groh bats but the barrel is blank. There is side writing but too dark to read. It measures to Groh specs at 33" and 40.8oz. and that's with a 7" piece off the back. Not cracked.

2. 1925 Groh Style blank bat with factory marks where bat was measured. It is side written but can really only read the return or record year of 1925. 32"-42oz., and not cracked.

3. 1940 Bottle bat lathe side written 28 oz F.Destephens 5-2-40 with lathe nubs. No factory stamps and a really odd bottle bat that resembles the Spring bat of the late nineteenth century.

4. 1928 dated Giant blank bat side written Devore R.S Elliott Arms Co 4-28-28. Bat measures 36" and weighs 35oz.
