Clyde came up in 1915-17 Frederick Hustlers. He went to the Pirates in 1920 where he stayed through 1928, playing in both the 1925-27 World Series. This is a blank barrel bat double dash dot dash which places its manufacture in the 1916 era so is probably one of his earliest bats dating to his pre major league career. He was replaced by Pie Traynor at third and as an outfielder, he hit for .325 in 1925. In 1927, he hit .319. Killer years which contributed to both the World Series seasons. He drove in 4 of Pittsburghs 10 runs in the 1927 series as they fell to the Yankees.
