Offered is a collection of Willie Mays related memorabilia which is highlighted by a scored game program from Willie's first season in affiliated ball with the Trenton Giants in 1950. Program is from a game against the Hagerstown Braves with "8-15-50 (2nd game)" handwritten in ink over writing in pencil which reads in part "July 20 or 21 or" while the scoring was also done originally in pencil before being gone over in ink in places. Heavy wear shown to cover of program with a taped spine. Also included are three pieces of correspondence to William Klink including a three page letter from the scout who signed Mays, John Schwarz, on San Francisco Giants letterhead detailing the signing plus a pair of photos & letter from Jim Beauchamp, who at one time owned Mays final HR #660 bat. The John Schwarz signed 3 page letter is a DETAILED description of Mays' signing with the Giants with a 1 page followup letter containing different info. (04F0319)
