Offered is a Western Union Telegram which was sent to Shoeless Joe Jackson's mother shortly after his passing. Telegram is dated 1951 Dec 9 PM 3:20 and reads, "Mrs Joe Jackson= McAfees Mortuary Greenville SoCar= Old ball players never died they just fade away. Peace to the ashes of the greatest hitter of them all= Leon L Rice=" Original envelope is also included which has Jackson's 119 E Wilburn Ave address handwritten in black ink.
