Everybody had to chip in during the Milwaukee Braves World Series season. Ray Crone helped set the table for future success as he went 3-1 in 11 appearances for the Braves before being jettisoned to the New York Giants in the trade which saw Red Schoendienst arrive in Milwaukee.
When Crone was setting down the opposition for the Braves in '57, he did so in this size "42" masterpiece. According to Dave Grob's assessment "The jersey features a circa 1954-1957 style Wilson tag as 1957 was a transition year for manufacturers' tagging for Wilson."
The all-original zip-up includes "Braves" spelled across the front in two-color formation and includes the team's unmistakable tomahawk on front with built in chenille threads on the tomahawk. A lone "Crone" (chainstitched) swatch appears in the collar while the tail houses a yellow Wilson tag, washing instructions label and "1957" swatch. Midnight navy/red/midnight navy piping surrounds the neckline and races down the front zipper path.
The left sleeve contains a screaming Braves logo patch. There was a 1/2 point deducted because it appears this was re-positioned, a vintage job.
