Photos measure 7" x 9" to 8" x 11". Former Cleveland Indians and New York Yankees ace pitcher of the 1940s and early '50s, Allie Reynolds, is depicted six times in this collection. The Yankee hurler is shown in his first season with the Yanks, holding up his new number two uniform, as well as throwing pitches for the Cleveland Indians.
Two photographs are identical, one was used immediately after it was taken during the 1953 season and the other was used after Reynolds was forced into retirement in 1955 when he suffered a career ending back injury. Featured in this collection is a photograph of Reynolds and Joe Blake of the Brooklyn Dodgers getting acquainted before the 1952 World Series.
