Gorman Thomas got a taste of big league baseball, and fat paychecks, in 1973. A year later he was back in the minors struggling to make end's meet.

This check was issued to Thomas in '74 when he was back in the minors. Don't worry Gorman, you'd be back in the bigs late in the season and become a full-timer in 1975.

Offered is a check to "J. Gorman Thomas" for $50 in April of 1974 by Milwaukee Brewers Minor League. Thomas signed the back "J. Gorman Thomas III" in black ballpoint. Think he signed that way many times? There are staple marks near the autograph but they do not touch the penning.
