The Home Run Derby is a contest designed with someone like Prince Fielder exactly in mind. At an age when plenty of kids are still struggling to hit it out of the infield in Little League the Prince was hitting batting practice bombs at cavernous Tiger Stadium as the son of star Detroit Tigers slugger Cecil Fielder.
During the 2009 All Star Game festivities at Busch Stadium in St. Louis a now very grown up Prince Fielder put his raw power on display by muscling out a total of 40 home runs to defeat Nelson Cruz of the Texas Rangers. In honor of his victory Sam Bat produced one dozen model RW23 Rideau Crushers with "2009 Home Run Derby Champion" emblazoned between the center brand and barrel stamping. Bat measures 34", weighs 32 ounces and is in mint unused condition. Accompanying the bat will be a Rawlings Official 2009 Home Run Derby gold baseball with display case. (F0345)
