Hideo Nomo was the first Japanese pitcher to make his mark in Major League Baseball. The entire baseball world was abuzz in 1995 when Nomo burst onto the scene. Each of his starts was broadcast on ESPN as the nation marveled at his quirky delivery.
Nomo has been an elusive autograph conquest, and his game worn treasures have been scooped up by Japanese collectors.
Offered is a Nomo game used glove, worn when the righty pitched for the Brewers in 1999. The use is light but decipherable. This was sourced from a former bullpen coach.
Worth special mention is the "NOMO" reference on the wriststrap. Nomo signed the back "To Ron Nedset " but the signature has faded over time.
The inside has "NOMO 16" and "Pro" engraved. There are some rub marks and from a baseball hitting the pocket. "HN95016P" is visible on the inner pinkie.
Overall a fabulous glove used by the biggest Japanese baseball import not named Ichiro.
