In short time, Cincinnati native Barry Larkin will stand before the throngs in a field a Cooperstown for his induction into Baseball’s Hall of Fame. That honor is due in no small part to his 1995 MVP season. In the eyes of many, that season is what put Barry over the top in this year’s balloting. Offered for your consideration is one of his game used road jerseys from that very season.
Originally obtained directly from the Reds in the late 1990s by advanced Cincinnati collector and proprietor of Sports Gallery, Mr. Mark Fugate, this jersey includes a number of characteristics that set it apart from the crowd. This pinstriped road offering features a size 46 Russell tag (not a size available for retail sale at the time) as well as tagging for 2” of extra length. In addition, the original and unaltered “Property of the Cincinnati Reds 95” paper tag remains well affixed, having been sewn under the Russell tag at the point of manufacturer.
Use and wear on the jersey is assessed as being light to moderate and it features Larkin’s autograph on the verso.
