The 1994 Montreal Expos were all set to qualify for postseason action and chase down their first World Series.
Then the strike wiped out all the goodwill created. This size "48" jersey was worn by pitcher Bill Risley during the 1993 season before being carried over for the following season. Remnants of where the first NOB (sewn directly to jersey) once stood are still visible on back. "MIMBS" was added to the reverse for 1994. Mike Mimbs was with the Expos for Spring Training but did not make the parent club. He would have worn this during Spring Training. All of the identifiers are manufactured in three-tone tackle twill. The right sleeve contains an MLB 125th anniversary patch while the opposite side has an Expos circular team patch.
Sewn in the tail are the following: Russell Athletic size, "Intera" flag tag and cloth "1993" tag.
