This is a 1992 Bernie Williams Louisville Slugger Professional Model Game Used Bat. This bat dates to the 1992 season based on the pinpointed record on March 31, 1992 in Louisville Slugger records. During this order, Williams ordered twelve 34" 32 oz. T141 cupped model bats with no finish. This was the only order of T141 model bats that Williams ordered in the 34" length during the 1991-97 Louisville Slugger centerbrand period. This bat was obtained directly from Jim Ksicinski, former Milwaukee Brewers visiting clubhouse manager, by MEARS president, Troy Kinunen. This bat currently weighs 31.75 ounces and measures 34 inches in length.
This bat exhibits heavy use with ball marks present on all sides of the barrel, but primarily along the bottom and back of the barrel. Black bat rack marks and a few cleat marks are present along the barrel. This bat has a 7" handle crack along the back of the barrel, which includes a 3-4" section of missing wood. The knob of this bat has Williams initials, BW, written on it in black marker.
Williams was a fixture for the Bronx Bombers for the better part of 15 years starting in 1991 and ending in 2006. During that stretch, Williams accumulated several awards and accomplishments including four World Championships, four Golden Glove Awards, and one Silver Slugger Award. By the end of his career, he had 2,336 hits, 289 home runs, and hit just a bit under .300 for his career, ending with a .297 batting average. He will go down in history as one of the most accomplished players to spend his entire career with the Yankees.
This bat grades out at the MEARS A9 grade with five points for the base grade, three points for heavy use, two points for the provenance, and a one point deduction for the handle crack and the missing wood.
