Featured in this lot is an autographed B.J. Surhoff professional model Louisville Slugger game used bat sourced directly from County Stadium during his rookie season with the Milwaukee Brewers in 1987. Model number T141 is stamped on the barrel along with B.J. Surhoff in block letters while Surhoff's uniform number 5 is written on the knob in black sharpie. B.J. has also signed the bat in black sharpie.
This natural finished ash bat currently weighs 32 ounces, measures 34" in length and matches known player factory records with a round barrel and regular knob. It exhibits signs of heavy use with deeply embedded stitch marks, bat rack marks, a heavy application of pine tar, dead wood on the reverse of the barrel and a 12" handle crack with some separation.
MEARS grades this bat as authentic.
