This is a 1986-89 Wade Boggs Louisville Slugger Professional Model Signed Bat. This bat dates to the 1986-89 period based on the Louisville Slugger centerbrand period. Louisville Slugger factory records indicate that during this period that a total of 36 bats in two orders meet the specifications of this bat at 34.0 inches in length, a flame treated finish, and either a C235 or C235C model, based on the cupped end. During this same period, Baseball Promotions or Miscellaneous like companies ordered this model bat 14 times for a total of 137 bats. With the light use displayed on the bat and the autograph it is likely that this bat was one of those Baseball Promotions, etc. bats, but it may have been one of the bats shipped to Boggs during his orders for this specific specced bat in 1986.
This bat exhibits minimal use with bat rack marks, light pine tar, and an undiscernable white mark in the centerbrand. Boggs jersey number during the 1986-89 period, 26, is present on the knob of the bat. Boggs has autographed the bat in blue marker between the centerbrand and barrel signature of the bat.
This bat grades out at the MEARS A5 grade with five points for the base grade and no point deductions. This bat comes with JSA Authentication, hologram #D82644, which attests to the authenticity of the autograph.
