This is a 1984 Ron Kittle / Marc Hill Rawlings Professional Model Game Used Bat. This bat dates to the 1984 season based on the year code, 4, present on the knob of the bat. During Kittle's career, he never wore jersey number 42, but during 1984, the year this bat was manufactured, Marc Hill was the only player to wear jersey number 7 for the Chicago White Sox, which indicates use of this bat by Marc Hill.
This bat exhibits heavy use with ball marks present on all sides of the barrel, but primarily the top of the barrel. A few ball marks display signs of blue ink transfer marks from the casing of the baseball. Hill's jersey number, 7, appears in black marker on the knob of the bat. Kittle has autographed this bat between the centerbrand and barrel signature in blue marker and inscribed it with "1983 AL ROY".
Kittle was most known for his Home Run slugging power throughout his career, slugging a total of 176 during his Major League Career. Kittle won the 1983 American League Rookie of the Year Award, while racking up 132 hits and 35 home runs, while hitting .254.
