1981-82 Wayne Gretzky Edmonton Oilers Game Worn Helmet (MEARS LOA)

Offered is an Edmonton Oilers helmet dating to circa Wayne Gretzky's 1981-82 season with the team. This being the year Gretzky broke the all-time goal record with 92, and this is the helmet worn on Dec 30th, 1981 when scoring his 50th goal in 39 games. A record that Gretzky himself has been quoted as saying 50 in 39 is the hardest record to break in his viewpoint. Oilers logo decals applied to either side of the Jofa helmet with Gretzky's uniform number 99 applied to the reverse in decal numerals and also written inside the helmet in red marker. Heavy wear with missing Jofa side decals on the exterior. (66P0469)
