Featured is a Ron Cey professional model H&B Louisville Slugger Bicentennial game used bat from his 1976 season with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Model number K55 is stamped on the knob while "1976 All Star Game" & "Philadelphia, PA" are stamped on the signature barrel.
This ash bat currently weighs 29 ounces, measures 35" in length and matches known player factory records with a regular knob and round barrel. It exhibits signs of heavy use with ball marks, deeply embedded stitch marks, bat rack marks and a 3" handle crack. Small mounting hole also present on reverse of barrel. Use is definite, and may have occurred during batting practice or in subsequent games. Cey did appear in the game, but as a defensive substitute and did not record an actual at bat.
Bat receives 5 points for matching known player records, 3 points for use and 2 points for All Star Game designation and loses 1/2 point for the mounting hole resulting in a final grade of MEARS A9.5.
