During the stretch of 1973-1975, Pete Rose won the NL MVP Award with 230 hits (1973), was a two time All Star, and batted .338, .284, and .317. His team also won the World Series Championship in 1975. Collectors, this is the perfect bat to own from the heart of Pete Rose’s career.
Measuring 35” and weighing 33 ounces, this S222 model was ordered by Pete Rose during the 1973-1975 era as supported by his H&B factory records. Bat shows light but certain game use manifested by several light ball marks, a red bat rack mark, and a single set of stitch marks below the barrel stamp.
Provenance: As a special guest, Pete gifted this bat to his attorney. To document the occasion, Pete signed the bat in vintage marker, “To Reuven Katz, Best Wishes, A Great Guy, Pete Rose”. Bats bearing specific provenance are always in high demand.
Final Grade (MEARS A8): Base grade of 5 points was assigned for bat matching factory records, 1 point for light use, 1 point for vintage autograph/inscription which served as provenance, and 1 point for Pete’s vintage 14 on knob.
A great Pete Rose bat with direct history.
