Offered is a Chicago Cubs road jersey dating to Peanuts Lowrey's 1971 season as a coach on manager Leo Durocher's staff. Wilson size 40 tag sewn to tail above a chain stitched "1971" with a strip reading "7-71-1-40" sewn in the collar while "Chicago", number 7 and a team logo patch are also sewn to the blue/grey flannel jersey. Heavy wear shown with some staining present, most notably to the tail and lower right side of the jersey. 1971 also marked the final year the Cubs wore flannel jerseys as they transitioned to knits in 1972. MEARS A8 with a 2 point deduction for the staining. (89R0284)
