Offered are a pair of Chicago Cubs home uniform pants which were donned by backup backstop J.C. Martin during his 1971 campaign with the club. While Martin only came to the plate 147 times for the Cubs in 1971 he did manage to produce the highest batting average (.264) and on base percentage (.336) of his 14 year Major League career. Wilson size 36 tag sewn in the waistband along with a strip reading "12-71-1-36-27" indicating the uniform number, year of issue, set number, waist and inseam. "A4000" is also stamped in faded black ink adjacent to the strip. Moderate use shown. (60N0055)
