Jim Gilliam's baseball resume rivals that of some Hall of Famers. All Star selection (2), check. World Series titles (4), check. Rookie of the Year (1953), check. Having his number retired (Dodgers), check.

Gilliam began his baseball odyssey in Brooklyn and finished up in Los Angeles. During his 14 year career, he clubbed just under 2,000 hits and was always dependable atop the Dodgers' venerable lineup.

This size "44" knit jacket was worn by Gilliam in the 1970s as a member of the Dodgers. According to the Tommy John signed letter of authenticity, "Gilliam gave his lighter-weight warm-up jacket to Tommy John during one of their seasons together in Los Angeles in the 1970s."

The jacket has a Goodman & Sons manufacturer's tag (1971-84 labeling period according to MEARS database) and white swatch with "19" written in vintage marker in the collar. A hook is instituted above the Goodman & Sons label as well.

The zipper if fully functional. Ribbed blue and white material surrounds the neckline, sleeve ends and tail.
