Baseball could sure use Bill Veeck. The game appears kind of stuffy nowadays. Back when Veeck was an owner, he helped make the game fun. Yes, he didn't take himself too serious and let us enjoy the game with him.

Veeck was one of the most colorful owners in the history of baseball. Disco night, having a midget saunter to the plate for an at-bat and fans manage night were a few of the ideas conjured up by unforgettable character.

This Statement of Club Ownership and Affiliations contract is signed expertly by Veeck in blue ballpoint.

The statement has the following typed: "This Club has working agreements with the following clubs San Diego Baseball Club, San Diego, California Charleston Baseball Club, Charleston, South Carolina." The third page reveals the following: "Memphis Baseball Club is indebted to the Chicago White Sox in the amount of $40,869.00" and that "No such payments have been made."
