This bat, along with four others, comes directly from the collection of former Dodgers and Angels bat boy. ( LOA included from the pawnshop owner that received the bat directly from the batboy) This example is a signature model C117L, 1960-63 being the only years from this era bat (1960-64) in which he ordered the 35"-33 oz C117L model when he wore number 4 which appears in black marker on the knob of the bat. The factory stamps are perfect. The bat shows tremendous game use with several Snider traits including the tell tale white criss crossed handle tape and the typical sailboat number 4 on the knob. There are black and green rack marks and all of the hitting surfaces are pounded with ball and lace marks. The bat remains uncracked. Snider wore number 4 with the Dodgers from 1960 through 1962 and for the last part of 1963 (Mets) When Snider joined the Mets, he discovered that his familiar number 4 was being worn by Charlie Neal, who refused to give it up. So Snider wore number 11 during the first half of the season, then switched back to 4 after Neal was traded. This bat grades out at the MEARS A9.5 grade with five points for the base grade, three points for heavy use, two points for provenance and player characteristics, and a half point deduction for the removal of the bat boy's name from the knob.
