Per the MEARS Bat Census (population report of bat graded by MEARS), this is one of only four 1950s H&B Louisville Slugger Hank Aaron bats graded by MEARS.
Dating (1955-1957): Bearing the 1950-1960 centerbrand, Hank Aaron’s personal H&B bat records document he ordered this model bat during both the 1955 and 1957 seasons.
Length 35”: Measuring 35” in length, Aaron’s bat records document he ordered this model bat during 1955 and 1957.
Weight 32.5 ounces: Weighing 32.5 ounces, this bats falls within the acceptable weight range of 33-34 ounces as ordered by Aaron during the era.
Game Use: Bat exhibits moderate game use with heavy, deeply seated stitch/seam marks.
Finals Grade (MEARS A7): This bat originally entered the hobby on 4/1/2006 and was graded as a MEARS A8 by retired bat authenticator Dave Bushing. Upon a recent review, MEARS bat evaluator Troy R. Kinunen regraded the bat as a MEARS A7. Although the stitch marks are very deep with seam impressions found below the surface of the bat, it is my opinion that the overall game use is more consistent with moderate than heavy assessment, thus the reason for the new grade.
