Offered is a professional model K88 Al Kaline game used H&B Louisville Slugger which was only ordered by the Hall of Fame slugger during his first full season with the Detroit Tigers in 1954 after which he finsihed 3rd in AL Rookie of the Year voting behind Bob Grim & Jim Finigan. Bat currently measures 34.5", weighs 31 ounces and shows heavy use with ball marks, bat rack marks, dead wood with a 5" section missing on the reverse of the barrel, some drying to the barrel's end and a small knob chip.
Bat receives 5 points for matching player records, 3 points for use and and additional 1/2 point for a pinpoint factory record with 1 point deducted for the deadwood and half a point deducted for each of the barrel drying & knob chip resulting in a final grade of MEARS A6.5. (92T0695)
