When Jackie Robinson made his momentous stride over the white line onto a Major League field for the first time, the cultural impact was enormous & the baseball impact wasn't bad either. During Jackie's ten year tenure from 1947 through 1956 the Brooklyn Dodgers won the 112 more games than the second best National League club & appeared in six World Series, though they only claimed victory over their rival New York Yankees once, in 1955.
Offered in this lot is a warm up jacket dating to smack dab in the middle of Robinson's decade with the Dodgers circa 1951-52. AG Spalding & Bros tag sewn in collar with a script style "Dodgers" sewn across the chest. Jacket shows solid wear yet remains in excellent overall condition with outstanding visual appeal. No player ID present. No size tag available but the jacket measures 24" from armpit to armpit.
