Baseball glove aficionados will gravitate towards this monstrous collection of store model/player endorsed gloves.
Most of these were circa 1940s or '50s and used generously before being taken out of circulation. Each number corresponds with the photo of glove shown.
Included are the following leather creations:
1 - Bob Grim JC Higgins glove. There is a metal fastener. (1954-62 / Yankees )
2 - Elbert Fletcher first baseman's glove. Heavy use. The stings are tattered. (1934-49 Braves / P:irates)
3 - Hurricane Pro Model glove. No strings are present.
4 - Johnny Mize Trapper first baseman's glove. Newer strings have been used. (1940-50's Hall of Fame / Yankees)
5 - Franklin (Pee Wee) Reese model glove. The strings are missing on the thumb and index finger. (Brooklyn Dodgers Hall of Fame)
6 - Gene Desautels 1940s catcher's mitt. Great use exhibited.
7 - Catcher's mitt with the strings broken. A name is burned into the thumb.
8 - Gabby Hartnett catcher's mitt. The strings are pulling away and missing in spots. (1930's Cubs Hall of Fame catcher)
9 - Gene Desautels Wilson glove. Heavy use with strings missing. (1930-46 Detroit, Boston, Cleveland)
10 - Vintage catcher's glove. A name is written on the fastener.
11 - Rawlings Official Soft Ball glove. New strings are present but not fastened.
12 - Hurricane Pro Model glove. The thumb/index strings are gone.
13 - Ted Williams Autograph Model glove. There is a name written on the inner pinkie region.
14 - Dee Fondy Snag Em Model first baseman's mitt. A name is written on the fastener is evident. (1951-58 / Cubs)
15 - Jake Early J.C. Wiggins catcher's mitt. (1939-49 Senators / Browns)
16 - Jake Early J.C. Wiggins catcher's mitt. This shows heavy use and is missing the strings.
17 - Rollie Hemslyy model catcher's mitt. (1928-47 Yankees, Indians)There are new strings attached.
18 - Jack Kramer Rawlings glove. There is a medal fastener. (1939-51 Browns pitcher)
19 - Del Rice catcher's mitt. Heavy use with a name written on the pinkie. (1945-61 / Cardinals Braves)
