Offered is an H&B Louisville Slugger lathe pattern bat used during the production process for bats ordered by Hall of Fame New York Giants slugger Mel Ott at the outset of the 1934 season, his first of eleven consecutive All Star campaigns. Bat currently measures approximately 34", weighs 35 ounces and features sidewriting which reads in part "35 oz. Melvin Ott 4-14-34 New York NL". 1.5" section of chipped wood missing from knob.
