Offered is a St. Louis Cardinals salesman sample uniform dating to circa 1931. Spalding manufacturer tag sewn in collar along with a size 40 tag and a B-502 size 40 sample strip while "Cardinals" is sewn across the chest of the flannel jersey in maroon felt lettering. Also accompanying are the matching uniform pants which feature a Spalding manufacturer tag, a size 34 tag and a B-502 size 34 sample strip sewn in the waistband. Letter detailing the provenance of the uniform from the family of Joe Benes, who played briefly for the Cardinals in 1931 amidst a 13 year minor league career, will attend along with photocopies of Joe's National League Player's Contract and correspondence sent to Joe from the Cardinals. Uniform remains in excellent overall condition with minimal wear evident. (76D0327)
