The Louisville Mascot company, a division of Louisville Slugger lists the Hendryx bat in their 1924 as the model 300. They state that "this was our very first Autograph Model. We are very proud of it indeed. It has a natural finish."
Hendryx was traded to the St. Paul Saints of the American Association in 1921 and in his only season with them, 1922, he lead the American Association with this model and this is printed on the decal. He moved the the PCL San Francisco Seals for the 1923-26 seasons so at best, this bat with this slogan was probably only listed as such in the 1923-24 catalogs.
This 34"-43 oz war club appear to have no use as evidenced by the 98% intact multi color decal. You will find the more common big sellers such as Cobb or Jackson but this model decal would have had a local interest and as such, probably was not a big seller and this is the only example that we are aware of. Add to the fact that it is almost brand new with a stellar decal and you have what may be one of the rarest decal bats in existence. If you collect high grade decal bats or a a fan of the American Association and the St. Paul Saints, then this is probably a once in a lifetime opportunity to add this to your collection.
