1922-28 Black Betsy (Joe Jackson Model) H&B Louisville Slugger Side Written Professional Model Bat - Barnstorming (MEARS A7)

Offered in this lot is a side written H&B Louisville Slugger with Joe Jackson's trademark Black Betsy finish. This 34.75", 33.5 ounce stick features a 1921-31 era H&B center brand and has been sidewritten "John Let 7-30-28." Bat exhibits signs of heavy use with ball marks, stitch marks, cleat marks and a handle crack which has been repaired by two period screws. "Funny" has also been stamped into the barrel's end.

Bat recieves 5 points for matching known style examples, 3 points for use and loses 1 point for the handle crack resulting in a final grade of MEARS A7.
