Thirty four years before the great Willie Mays hit 30 dingers and stole 30 bases, Ken Williams, in 1922 while playing for the Browns, was the first to ever reach that feat. The Browns were heavy contenders to win the American League title that season losing out to the Yankees by one loss. This pre model 33"-33.1 oz signature model may have been used by him during that magical season. As to use, there is a 10" double handle crack, cleat marks, some grain separation on back of the barrel with heavy game use evident on all sides. Factory stamps are perfect. Bat grades a MEARS A6 with 5 base points, 3 use points but -1 for crack and a strange carving on knob and -1 for grain separation. Collection of MEARS staff.
