This signature model war club measures 35" and weighs 36.9 oz. The bat shows heavy game use and swelling concentrated on top of the barrel. There is an 8" H style handle crack and the bat is side written having been returned to H&B for replication. The origin of shipping was J.W.Magee Sptg. G. and dated 9-9- -9?. Bat exhibits a wonderful aged patina with deeply stamped marks and numerous cleat marks about the barrel. Bat grades a MEARS A 7.5 with 5 base points, 3 use points and -.5 for handle crack.
Strand is most noted as being a member (pitcher) of the 1914 Miracle Boston Braves where he played from 1913-1915. In addition, he played in the minor leagues from 1922-28 (the era of this bat) He did play in both Toledo and for the Philadelphia A's in 1924. In 1926-27, he played for the Portland Beavers in the old PCL.
