Physical characteristics: Signature model game used bat. Bat measures 34 ¾” and weighs 37.9 oz. Bat was returned to the H&B factory by a shipping depot and is written: "Hart & Co. Cincinnati Ath. 7-17-28". Bat shows good game use on all sides with a small closed 5” handle crack, cleat marks, and some light grain separation on the barrel. Side writing is the work of Henry Morrow and very readable. The remains of the original shipping label are to the right of the center brand and you can still read parts of the return address on the old paper label. Finish and factory stamps are perfect. Bat grades an A7.5 with 5 base points and 3 use points with -.5 for the crack and grain separation. History: Grimm was a mainstay with the Cubs from 1925-36 playing on the championship teams of 1929, 32, and 1935. This bat dates to his early years with the Cubs. Probably best remembered as a long time coach. One of the tougher to find 1929 and 1932 Cubs game used bats. LOA MEARS
