Ty Cobb may have been the best all-around baseball player that ever lived. But one thing is for sure, Cobb had a burning desire to win. The first player to amass over 4,000 hits, Ty Cobb is the epitome of hitting, and bat collectors seek examples of his lumber.
Dating (1921-28): Per the MEARS Official center brand guide, the manufacturing is consistent with the 1921-1928 era. During that time, Cobb played for the Detroit Tigers from 1921-26, before finishing up as a player manager from 1927-1928 with the Philadelphia Athletics.
Length 34”: Measuring 34” in length, the bat measures at a length acceptable for Ty Cobb to have used during the era.
Weight 34.5 ounces: Currently weighing 35.5 ounces, the bat weighs at an acceptable range for bats used by Cobb.
Game use: Bat exhibits heavy game use, multiple cleat marks around the barrel end. Stitch marks on barrel end. Handle crack which has been repaired.
