Offered is a Chicago National League Ball Club check dated 3/23/18 in the amount of $200 payable to pitcher James "Hippo" Vaughn with a signature of endorsement on the reverse from Vaughn while Cubs treasurer Walter Craighead has signed the front of the check. Hippo put up a season for the ages in 1918 leading the National League in Wins (22), ERA (1.74), Shutouts (8), Innings Pitched (290.1), and Strikeouts (148).
