One of the most recognizable bats in baseball history, this example of the Heinie Groh bottle bat measures 32.5" and weighs a whopping 41 oz. Factory stamped with both first (mis-spelled) and last name. Bat shows tremendous game use with cleat marks and swelling on all of the hitting surfaces. Factory stamps are deep and perfect. There are some dents on back of the barrel (-1) and some minor deadwood on back of the barrel as well. (-1) On the Spalding stamped knob, there is a pattern of nail holes.Bat grades a MEARS A6 with 5 base points, 3 use points and minus 2 points for above mentioned notes. Groh was a star player for the New York Giants as well as a key member of the 1919 Cincinnati Reds World Series team. A really nice and rare early example of the bottle bat.
