One would think that when the final seconds ticked off the clock in Super Bowl XLII that no football team could possibly be more elated than the New York Giants who had just completed their miraculous upset of the heavily favored New England Patriots. While the celebration in the Giants locker room was certainly a raucous affair, one would imagine the surviving members of the 1972 Miami Dolphins celebrated in a far more subdued fashion as they remained alone as the only team to achieve perfection.
Offered here is a full size Riddell helmet which has been signed in black marker by 41 members of the 17-0, Super Bowl VII Champion Miami Dolphins including Don Shula, Bob Griese, Larry Csonka, Otto Stowe, Bill Stanfill, Norm Evans, Jim Dunaway, Earl Morrall, Larry Little, Dick Anderson, Jim Kiick, Marv Fleming, Vern Den Herder, Al Jenkins, Howard Twilley, Paul Warfield, Jesse Powell, Mercury Morris, Curtis Johnson, Larry Seiple, Howard Kindig, Manny Fernandez, Mike Kolen, Garo Yepremian, Hubert Ginn, Marlin Briscoe, Doug Crusan, Maulty Moore, Larry Ball, Bob Kuechenberg, Charlie Babb, Bob Heinz and more. "#17 of 72" written in orange marker on reverse of helmet. (E0609)
