Offered in this lot is a 1929 reproduction of an older photo of longtime baseball man Connie Mack. Based on the youthfulness of Mack's appearance our best guess is the original photo was snapped sometime in the early 1900's when he was just starting his managing career with the Philadelphia Athletics. Measures 6.5" x 8.5". "Connie Mack" handwritten on reverse with Pacific & Atlantic Photo & Mar 13 1929 stamps on reverse. Seattle Times Archives Hologram. (N0459)

The Seattle Times originated as the Seattle Press-Times, a four page newspaper founded in 1891 with a daily circulation of 3,500, which Maine teacher and attorney Alden J. Blethen bought in 1896. This is an original photo, in many cases a Type 1 printed at the time of the event. File copies or type 2 photos are also found, and can be distinguished by the markings on the reverse.
