This Badgers game worn helmet was donned right around the turnaround of the program. It is known that Ohio State and Michigan give decals for outstanding plays as their helmets are usually filled with them.
During this time period the Badgers gave decals for excellence. Whoever wore this helmet must have done their job at a high level as there are 28 oval shaped decals throughout the back portion. The white shell shows tremendous use. Our guess is this was used for multiple seasons. The inside features these: "42" written in two spots, blue bladder padding (red dot on crown), two recertification stickers (1980s) and leather forehead reinforcement. Leather jaw pads are snapped on as well.
A linemen mask if secured on front.
Employed by the Green Bay Packers from 1984-2000, Scott Waters had on field access for each game, and mingled along the sidelines with the players. Several candid photos document his presence on the field. This lot originated directly from the Scott Waters collection. Detailed LOA’s personally signed by Scott Waters will be included with each item from his collection. Letters of authenticity: Scott Waters & MEARS / Troy Kinunen
