No Packers fan can forget Phil Epps tip-toeing the sideline in Minnesota trying to stay in bounds.
The little receiver comfortably fit into this size "42" jersey between 1984-85. We have figured that date given the Sand Knit tagging and because of the inclusion of Packer "G" emblems on the stripes.
Decent wide receiver use is shown on this white mesh jersey with a few hit marks on the shoulder numbers. The reverse "5" includes a healthy hit mark while there are two stains on the NOB. A team repair appears on the left sleeve/shoulder. "EPPS" is spaced across a nameplate. All of the identifiers are heat pressed.
Sewn into the collar is a size tag while the tail includes dual Sand Knit tags - exclusivity and size.
Who could forget the diminutive Phil Epps, a speedster of the highest order.
Employed by the Green Bay Packers from 1984-2000, Scott Waters had on field access for each game, and mingled along the sidelines with the players. Several candid photos document his presence on the field. This lot originated directly from the Scott Waters collection. Detailed LOA’s personally signed by Scott Waters will be included with each item from his collection. Letters of authenticity: Scott Waters & MEARS / Troy Kinunen
