1980s Wally Backman New York Mets Game Worn Helmet (MEARS Auction LOA)

Wally Backman was a pesky hitter who just never seemed to go away. After 14 years at the big league level, Backman has become a skipper who should someday make it to the show.

Backman wore this size "7" helmet when he played in the Big Apple. Moderate use is shown with sweat staining on the inside headband. "Backman" is dymo labeled on both ends and an "ABC" sticker is found on back. Moderate use is shown with surface scratches throughout.
