Sports will always be dominated by the superstar. But for every Walter Payton, there is a Matt Suhey. While Sweetness grabbed the headlines, he would have never approached the levels he did without the smarts and ability of Suhey. The duo reunited near the end of Payton's life as he was battling cancer. It was Suhey who helped his former teammate during the final stages of his life.

This sideline jacket was worn by Suhey during his stay in the Windy City. While lacking the sheer size of the 1940s-60 cape, this jacket makes up for it with a player number on the left sleeve. Constructed out of a heavy wool material is this zip-up dynamo.

A Sand Knit tag and suspended "Set 1" flag tag are revealed in the cowl. A combination of orange/white/navy stripes surround the neckline, sleeve ends and tail. "CHICAGO BEARS" is arched across the reverse in two-color tackle twill and the left sleeve features "26". Puckering is evident on each identifier from years of service.

While lacking the sizzle of Payton or domination of Singletary, Matt Suhey has a special place in the hearts of Bears fans. He epitomized blue collar and opened holes for Payton during his record-breaking career.
