Bum Phillips took the Houston Oilers from struggling franchise to on the brink of a Super Bowl berth. But it was his infectious personality which stole the show.
Worn during the Phillips era is this size "44" jacket. No player is identified. Sewn to the back of the powder blue jacket is "HOUSTON OILERS" along with a football, each created in two-color tackle twill while the team name is embroidered on front.
Secured in the collar is a Wilson size "44" tag, 1974-77 labeling period. There are dirt marks but this beauty has stood the test of time.
