Joe Willie Namath was certainly one of the most relevant players to lead a team to a Super Bowl. During the 1969 season, Namath delivered on his promise and brought a Super Bowl to the AFL's New York Jets. Offered for this lot is a period Riddell helmet. The shell is vintage with a replaced facemask. "Joe" is hand written on the interior, but MEARS could not confirm the helmet was worn in a game. A black autograph appears on the helmet which reads, "Hey Kevin, I hope we're always teammates! The best to you, Joe x12 Namath". We could not identify a teammate named Kevin.
