File this beauty under the category "you have to see it to believe it." Three factors lead us to believe this James Harrison white Bears home jersey is one of the finest known.
First and foremost, the jersey is made from the classic durene fabric made popular in the 1960s, a cotton/nylon blend. Football teams switched to mesh in the 1970s forever losing that classic look. Secondly, the name on back. "HARRISON" is correctly spaced across the reverse in two-color tackle twill formation to a nameplate. Each letter measures 2 1/2". NFL teams began incorporating names on backs of their jerseys following the AFL/NFL merger in 1970.
Last, but certainly not least, are the 3/4 sleeves with embedded striping and elbow reinforcements. Aesthetics are at no premium on this size "46" Harrison representation. Harrison played from 1971-74 for the Bears. A Wilson size tag (used in the 1960s through '73) is revealed in the tail.
A few minor stains appear on the body, but they do not attract from the overall aura. The jersey has been graded MEARS A9.5 with a 1/2 point deduction for light spotting.
