Aside from a brief two-year stint with the Mets (including the famed 1969 season), J.C. Martin spent the entirety of his lengthy career in Chicago. Though much of his Windy City occupation was on the city's south side, Martin ventured north to finish out his career with the Cubs. This Hillerich & Bradsby 1969-72 label period bat came from that period.

The signature model (K55 appears on knob) was used by Martin during regular season play. Martin's last name appears on the barrel in block lettering. The ash bat weighs 33 ounces and measures 34 1/2" in length. It features a standard regular style knob and a round barrel. The item exhibits signs of heavy use and rock marks.

Comments: Neatly penned in the hand of Yosh Kawano - longtime Cubs equipment manager - is K55 34 1/2. This is a desirable trademark for authentic Cubs bats.

Grade MEARS A8: 5 base points assigned for bat matching factory records, 3 points assigned for heavy game use, 1 points for documented 12 on knob, -1 point for a 6" crack with separation.
