Before Bill Walsh, the San Francisco 49ers were a rudderless ship. This size "7 3/4" helmet was worn in the late '70s or early '80s.

The shell exudes great use with numerous scratches and surface abrasions appear on the shell. Jim Plunkett signed the helmet in black felt tip. A PSA/DNA sticker (4A02069) will serve as authentication for the autograph.

AF2 padding is found on the inside with a gel-filled system in place. "Wilson" is written on the inside in black marker. Mike Wilson, a 1981 draft choice, was rostered on the squad from 1981-90 although it is hard to make the definitive claim it was Wilson's headgear.
